Stacey’s prior social work experience and training at Corporate Health Systems of The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, Catholic Social Services, The JCC of Detroit in Southfield, Beth Abraham Hospital, and Fine and Newcombe Associates, have contributed to her broad scope on the field of Aging, and the services available across many cities and communities.
Stacey’s background in clinical social work, administration and mediation, supports ElderOptions’ focus on helping all types of families, including those with more complex issues and protracted conflict.
Stacey has presented workshops to the New York City Bar Association, the New York Geriatric Education Consortium at Columbia University, Brookdale Assisted Living Communities, and various religious and community organizations. Topics presented include: Accessing Eldercare Services in the Community, Thinking and Planning for the Aging Process, Multicultural Conflict Management in Homecare Settings, Conflict Management in Senior housing, and Elderlaw and Geriatric Care Management.
Stacey is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Society on Aging, and the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers. She received her Masters of Social Work degree in 1991 from the University of Michigan and lives in Chicago with her husband and children.

Rachelle Mendes, MSW, is a 2010 graduate of the Yeshiva University, Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Rachelle has worked as an ElderOptions geriatric care manager since 2004. She brings extensive experience in assessment and care coordination through her work at community service agencies including Self Help, Caring Community, The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, and Sunnyside Community Services. Rachelle’s expertise with the NY State Medicaid system, has helped ElderOptions’ clients to access homecare and nursing home care through the NY State Medicaid program.
Sandra Weitz, M.A. has provided ElderOptions clients expert household management services since 2002. Sandra’s ability to organize financial situations and maintain clear and straightforward records is a highly valuable asset to a family that lives at a distance, or to an individual unable to maintain their previous level of financial or household record keeping or organization. Sandra also coordinates general household maintenance issues, and is available for consult on short or long-term projects. Sandra received her M.A. from Columbia University.
Michael Miller, LSW, JD joined ElderOptions in the summer of 2012. Mike is a graduate of Loyola University’s School of Social Work, where he received an MSW in 2008. Prior to joining ElderOptions, Mike worked with a community agency serving older adults in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, Heart2Heart. Before becoming a social worker, Mike had a long career as an attorney. He brings this specialized legal experience and insight to support the needs of older adults.
